The ORIGINAL CHARACTER information post is here: [link]
I used to have one of these things and obviously I do not anymore, SO I AM GOING TO FIX IT. I've been asked various things over time so it's probably helpful that I do this, anywayz.
1.) YES, you can make icons/avatars/layouts/graphics/wallpaper with my art. All I ask for is credit somewhere somehow. If you're going to distribute these layouts or wallpapers or icons, you MUST MUST MUST enforce this credit rule on the people using them. If I find something out there that isn't credited to me anywhere, yet uses my art, I'm going to be really cranky and tell people to stop using it. (If used on LiveJournal or InsaneJournal, my username is chimbleysweep. If used on GreatestJournal or JournalFen, my username is hilarity. Or you can just use my dA username, if that makes it easier.)
>>1a.) That said, if you want to use my original art for something OTHER than what I mentioned in #1, you need to ask me first because I may not approve. (I can tell you right off the bat that I won't let you use my original characters as your own roleplaying characters. They are MY roleplaying characters.)
2.) Posting my fanart on archives is okay, but I prefer to be asked before you do so. Credit appropriately and DO NOT HOTLINK. My website is already pretty damn big and I can't afford losing any more bandwidth. I would prefer that you not touch my original art.
3.) Yeah, so, obviously, don't distribute my art as your own. That's kind of common sense, but we all know how many people steal art online. If you see anyone doing it, contact me aaaaat pupscout@gmail.com.
4.) You can color/recolor my stuffs. I've been asked this only a couple of times, but I figure it's worth mentioning. Since I don't value my own coloring very much and a lot of what I have is simple lineart, I love seeing the work of other people. If you want to know specifics about how people look or you want original (or bigger) lineart, just comment somewhere or message me or drop me an email (pupscout@gmail.com). Whatever works best for you. And yes, you may post it--but you must credit me. If you don't, and I find it, there will be hell to pay.
>>4a.) But can you draw fanart/write fiction with my characters? Yes. Again, credit me for the characters and world because they are mine mine mine. But I really am floored whenever anyone likes the stories enough to draw things inspired by them. I mean, it seriously kills me in a good way. I put all of the recoloring or fanart in my Shoutbox because ahhhhhh I can't NOT show that amazing stuff off.
5.) This sounds kind of stuck up and ridiculous, but I have been asked more than once and as I improved my art using this method, I can't say no to other people. Yes, it's okay to use my art for practicing and improving. I would prefer that you ONLY use these for private use, but if you post any of them, credit me or I will cry.
6.) Yes, I take commissions. I have my own projects to take care of right now, but I'll be open soon. I'll post more information about it l8r, m8s.
7.) I love each and every one of you!
That's all I can think of! YEEHAW.
Okay, bye.
