In case any of you thought I was dead, I am not dead! I was away and not at a computer and HORRIFIED BY THAT for a long while.

Now I am back at a computer.

I'm bored. Was bored. Over at my LJ I'm allowing anyone to ask any of my characters anything you want. You don't have to have an LJ to ask, as I allow anonymous comments.

It's being passed around everywhere, and with good reason. If you are an artist, even if you don't consider yourself an artist but have photos or other creative works online, read this and read the entire thing.

Then scream and shout and write and call and make noise and voice your opinion about this piece of crap legislation.

(It should be noted that there is currently no bill actively going through Congress, but it's still being discussed and has been presented many times before. Just because it hasn't been successful in the past does not mean it won't be successful in the future. Do take this as an opportunity to jump the gun. It's better to be safe than sorry.)

Because there is so much stealing/copying drama going on in the world today (from Flickr to Photobucket's nonsense print feature and, of course, all over dA), I'm going to make it very clear where my art will be found. If it is not mentioned here, it's probably being used without my permission. My email is pupscout @ gmail.com, or you can send me a note or a message.

1.) Obviously, my deviantArt page. That would be this one. I do not have any other dA accounts. At all. Ever. Anywhere. I've never made another one, I've never had a supplement account, I've never shared an account with anyone. This is it. hilarity is it.

2.) My only Photobucket account is also hilarity. I do not sell prints there. I also only rarely use my Photobucket account.

3.) My website is thegreenjumper.org. Anything with that domain presumably belongs to me, because no one shares my domain space.

4.) My LiveJournal is chimbleysweep. I also have hilarity and numerous private/roleplaying journals. However, the only place I post my art is on my main journal, chimbleysweep.

5.) My GreatestJournal is hilarity. I don't have all of my art there, but I do have some.

6.) My InsaneJournal is chimbleysweep. Again, I don't have everything there, but I do have a lot.

7.) My JournalFen is hilarity. Same story as GJ and IJ; I don't update it regularly, but there is art.

I have given permission for personal use of my art (avatars/icons, layouts, wallpapers, etc.), but I also require that anyone using it indicate that the art belongs to me. This must be somewhere visible. If you see anyone with my art and you aren't sure whether or not I would approve, let me know. It's better to be safe than to let someone get away with art theft.

Again, if my art is at a location other than those seven places, there's a chance it's in the wrong spot because someone stole it/copied it. There are always exceptions because I have close friends I draw things for and they are free to do what they will with my art, but telling me, even if it's a false alarm, is still appropriate. You don't know.

I was so hoping it wouldn't come to this. I really wanted to be nice and talk to the person first with the hope that they would take down the art or at least give me credit for having made the original pieces, but they didn't cooperate. They hid my comments.

Because of that, I have to make an announcement.

Do not copy my art. I use references on occasion, but I draw them in my style and when I see someone copying my LINES and my CONCEPTS, I'm going to be angry. You're not just copying ballet dancers. If you want to draw ballet dancers, Google 'ballet dancer'. You'll get references I've used as well as many others and you can draw from there. Do not just copy what I draw.

My ballet dancers are characters. The girl is Claire. She belongs to me and me alone. She has been in my brain for almost four years and I do not want people to copy her.

So please, if you see anyone doing anything like this, let me know. If you have done it, just give me credit RIGHT NOW and do not pass them off as your own. Copying is okay when you do it for private fun and advancement. Copying is not okay when you claim work as your own.

And don't hide my comments when I point out what you've done.

I'm editing this to add this capture of one of the copies. I'm adding this here because of the alarming commentary in which this person states that she has been offered the chance to give it to someone who will use it as a tattoo.

This person copied almost directly from this piece, this piece, this piece and quite possibly more.

As this person seems to think she still has the right to use it (so she made mention of in a note to me) because she apparently drew inspiration from elsewhere (nevermind the fact that she actually did copy my lines), if you see it or even a similar variation, let me know immediately. I don't trust this situation at all.
